Slow Food Snail Kids Program
Slow Food Noosa – Slow Food Snail Kids (SFSK) program established in 2020 by Di is to provide a structurally sound educational experience to help our children understand where their food comes from and the benefits of buying and eating seasonal local produce, fulfilling the growing need for healthier eating habits in our school children. It is focusing our children on good food choices and local sustainable food production.
The SFSK experience provides school children with an opportunity to engage in relevant and real learning that connects them to the world of Good, Clean, Fair food production. It’s an educational program putting the puzzle pieces together—connecting our kids, Slow Food Snails, community, and curriculum—aiming for lasting change.
When kids learn to care for the food they eat, they not only begin to understand how food choices shape their strength, clarity and well-being, they begin to grasp a deeper truth: how we nourish ourselves reflects how we relate to the world around us...from our bodies, to our friends, to the Earth.
